KITESURFING CAMPS

ZooPark Famara Surf & Kitesurf School organizes kitesurf lessons all year round for beginners, intermediates and advanced lessons on Famara beach Lanzarote, Canaries. The lessons are taken on Famara beach in the natural park Archipielago Chinijo. In the Atlantic ocean of Famara beach wich is surrounded by natural geographic volcanic sceneary wich is unique. All our instructors are fully qualified by the IKO and our school is part of the International Kiteboarding Organisation, IKO, so you will be following there methods wich will help you learn the fastest and easiest way to become an independent kitesurfer. So in this package it will be perfect for you to learn to kitesurf and enjoy your holidays to the maximum learning this sport offering you 7 nights accomadation plus 4 days of kitesurf lessons. The kitesurf camp doesn´t have any specific dates to start or end. So you can arrive any day of the week and start your lessons the next day, don´t worry all we depend on is mother nature and the wind.

On the other hand, to start this sport there is no fisical requirements neither a certain age to begin. Neither is it necesary to have practiced any other water sports. Here you can learn everthing from scratch starting of with just the kite. With the IKO method you will learn safely, quickly and have fun as well.

The kitesurfing lessons will take part on Famara beach wich is 6 km long and a sand beach making the most of the low tide as it is ideal for learning safely for our students.

The kitesurfing combines tecnique and the adrenaline rush of surfing,windsurf,snowboarding and wakeboarding converting this in one of the most spectacular water sports known.

Sliding, power, speed, jumps, waves and freestyle all this and more kiteboarding has to offer. Believe it or not a lot of people think it´s really hard when it is actually quite easy to kitesurf as for most of the techniques are done on land and with the write instruction it´s really easy to become an independent kitesurfer in just a few days.

ZooPark Famara. surf & Kite School has to offer the best kites in the world North Kiteboarding you can look this up and boards of the same make North Kiteboarding from last year helmets, walkie-talkies, harness, lifevests, wetsuits and id vests and back brases, etc... We also have a jet ski and zodiac incase it´s extreme.

With the 4 day kitesurf lessons, our students will be more than capable to enjoy this beautiful sport with all the safety measures necesary to practice this sport without having to be supervised so you can enjoy the beach with all the other kiters. And something really important you will recieve after completing your course your IKO Kiteboarding Card with your level written on it, wich comes with other benefits it comes with worldwide kiteboarding insurance specifically for kitesurfers. You also have the posibilitie to rent kite equipment anywere you travel, also you can get discount and enter draws were you can win kite surf materials, etc... As well can you imagine how you will be able to show off to all of your friends?

Our school is an oficial IKO Center and our instructors are IKO level 2 speaking spanish and english.

Our Lanzarote wind season starts from march to aproximately halfs of october.

THE IKO KITESURF CAMP

BEGINEERS LEVEL 1

In this level you will learn:

• The security and prevention
• How to choose the right spot and equipment for the conditiones
• How to set up your equipment and how to put it away
• Theory and tecniques of how to control your kite
• Landing and take off with the kite
• How to lift your kite up when it´s in the water
• Body drag and body drag upwind
• Water start

The camp includes:

• 7 nights acommadation shared in the ZooPark Famara surf house
• Transport to the school then to the beach then back to the village
• 4 days kitesurf lessons 3 hours a day (12 hours)
• Instructors IKO level 2
• All the equipment for the lesson kite, board, harness, back brase lifejacket, helmet, leashes, radios, etc...
• Maximum 2 people per instuctor
• IKO kiteboarding book
• Card diploma of the IKO showing your level
• Health insurance
• Internet WI-FI

INTERMEDIATES LEVEL 2

KITE CAMP IKO INTERMEDIATES

The level 2 IKO kitesurf camp intermediates this is directed to all of you that have already done kitesurfing lessons but if there is any reason that you haven´t been able to complete this course or you need to go over these things again like body drag or the water start without navigating your kite. This course is for those that already know the theory of how to fly securly and you have done all the exercises on land and have complete control of your kite wen it´s attached to the harness and know how to relaunch the kite from the water.

IKO LEVEL 1

This camp is also directed to all of you that have completed a course were you have done body drag and water start and for any reason you haven´t navigated IKO level 2 In the intermediate course we cover things like how to move the kite to create a constant traction to each way of the wind, body positioning in the water start and navigating, foot positioning on the board and technique. The mission in this camp is that you complete your course and navigate by yourselves and are able to return back to the same spot depending on all the students learning fase.

The intermediate level 2 IKO camp includes:

• Transport to the school then to the beach then back to the village

ADVANCED LEVEL 3

KITESURFING CAMP IKO AVANCED

For all of you that have completed your IKO level 2 or you have similar understanding or have your own equipment or practice kitesurfing more or less regulary.

If when you navigate and find you can control the power of your kite to much power or speed and you all off quite frequently while just advancing a few meters, if your still not capable of returning to the same spot or you aren´t satisfied with the control you have of the situation once you are navigating, well this is the camp you are looking for.

In the lessons in this camp we cover these aspects like technique to learn to rail to rail and return to the same spot, body positioning on the board and with the kite, acelarating and slowing down from rail to rail, change of direction, even the theory and practice of how to do your first jumps securly your first manuvers and do back loops front loops. All this in one of the safest spots in Europe.

This course is only the people that have completed there IKO level 2 or including IKO level 3 but you feel you need to take your kitesurfing to another level under the supervision of instructors with experience.

The level 3 surf camp includes:

• 7 nights acommadation shared in the ZooPark Famara surf house
• Transport to the school then to the beach then back to the village
• 4 days kitesurf lessons 3 hours a day (12 hours)
• Instructors IKO level 2
• All the equipment for the lesson kite, board, harness, back brase lifejacket, helmet, leashes, radios, etc...
